Our Meteorite Gold Inlay Rings feature an inlay of genuine Gibeon
Meteorite that has been plated with Titanium Nitride. This inert coating is
typically used in hard industrial applications such as drill bit coatings. The meteorite was discovered in Namibia in South Africa in 1838. It has a unique crystalline grain structure called Widmanstatten lines that were caused by the meteorite slowly cooling over millions of years as it hurtled through space. It is estimated to be over 4 billion years old! The government of Namibia has stopped export of the meteorite, so it will become more rare as the years go by. It's a great mix of ancient and contemporary. This is truly a work of art and history available for your finger.
The Meteorite Gold Inlay Titanium Rings look best in brushed or polished finishes. Priced in Titanium 6AL4V.
Also available in Titanium 8-1-1, Black Zirconium,
Cobalt Chrome and Stainless Steel.
* PLEASE NOTE: there is a 2 week turnaround with the Gold Meteorite Ring. The Titanium Nitride plating on the meteorite inlay has to be sent for plating.
